Synopsis: The real Star Trek crew visits a planet to give medical exams to an archaeologist and his wife (that's a thing, I guess). This woman/wife (her name is Nancy Crater - hilarious) has a scandalous past with Dr. McCoy (Bones), and he, still possibly in love, sees her as she looked 10 years ago (first red flag!) Soon they discover the wife has actually been replaced with a shape-shifting, salt-sucking monster. A few expendable crew members are sucked dry, Spock does something, and Bones ends up killing said monster in a dramatic and supposedly heart-wrenching ending.
Best pun we could come up with: Little does he know she wants to suck his bones dry! (Get it?)
Mike's Thoughts: Finally we get to see the actual crew in action. I found this episode to be waaay more enjoyable than the pilot. The crew in this episode is definitely more fleshed out than in the pilot and it really makes the story more dramatic when there are actual characters you at least kinda care about. Also, there was that cool monster thing at the end - I like that.
Anna's Thoughts: Ahhh, the real first episode. Firstly, love the title - outrageous. Secondly, it has hit home that the sound quality of these episodes on Netflix is horrendous and therefore has forced me to hate the sound effects. Imagine this but a million times louder all of a sudden. As for the episode itself: due to rage, I don't remember a lot of it.
Coolest Monster Award goes to...
This thing:
The woman/wife/monster at her saddest.
